Becoming a Nation of Righteousness: Rev. John Rankin’s Calling and Triumph over Slavery

As Rev. John Rankin left his home in eastern Tennessee in 1817, he traveled to the free state of Ohio with a single, God given purpose: defeating the institution of slavery. Over the next five decades, he committed his life toward this end. This commitment directly resulted in the formation and growth of what we understand today to be the American abolitionist movement. In this lecture, author Caleb Franz will dive into the life of Rev. John Rankin and how his faith directly influenced the freedom of millions.
